Call to Worship (click here for the Call to Worship)

Bless the Lord, O my soul,

And forget not all His benefits:

Who forgives all your iniquities,

Who heals all your diseases,

Who redeems your life from destruction,

Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,

Psalm 103:2-4

Prayer: Almighty and most merciful Father, as we come to worship today, we cry out to you for your lovingkindness and your tender mercies for our iniquities are many. Heal us of the disease of our sin for the sake of your Son by whose lashes we are healed. Defend us from the deceits of the devil and keep us in faith and repentance. We ask this in the name of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen

Verse of Assurance:

For as the heavens are high above the earth,

So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;

As far as the east is from the west,

So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

Psalm 103:11–13

We Praise You, O God, Our Redeemer, Creator (Trinity Hymnal 97)

1 We praise you, O God, our Redeemer, Creator,

in grateful devotion our tribute we bring.

We lay it before you, we kneel and adore you;

we bless your holy name, glad praises we sing.

2 We worship you, God of our fathers, we bless you;

through life's storm and tempest our Guide you have been.

When perils o'ertake us, escape you will make us,

and with your help, O Lord, our battles we win.

3 With voices united our praises we offer,

to you, great Jehovah, glad anthems we raise.

Your strong arm will guide us, our God is beside us,

to you, our great Redeemer, forever be praise.

Psalm 105:1-12 (NKJV)

1 Oh, give thanks to the Lord!

Call upon His name;

Make known His deeds among the peoples!

2 Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him;

Talk of all His wondrous works!

3 Glory in His holy name;

Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord!

4 Seek the Lord and His strength;

Seek His face evermore!

5 Remember His marvelous works which He has done,

His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth,

6 O seed of Abraham His servant,

You children of Jacob, His chosen ones!

7 He is the Lord our God;

His judgments are in all the earth.

8 He remembers His covenant forever,

The word which He commanded, for a thousand generations,

9 The covenant which He made with Abraham,

And His oath to Isaac,

10 And confirmed it to Jacob for a statute,

To Israel as an everlasting covenant,

11 Saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan

As the allotment of your inheritance,”

12 When they were few in number,

Indeed very few, and strangers in it.

Prayer and Lord’s Prayer:

Almighty and Merciful Heavenly Father, on your help we depend and to you we look for health and strength, for forgiveness and renewal and for perseverance and protection. Defend our souls from the inner plague of sin and from the deceits of the devil. Strengthen our faith to trust in you and in your Son. Deliver your people from governments that would oppress them, and from the followers of false religions that would harm them. By your Spirit make effective the work of our missionaries, and the witness of your people throughout the world. Revive and renew your church in our nation. Deliver your people from false teachers and lead us into your truth.

Give to our President, our Governor and all those in authority wisdom in this time of crisis. Make their efforts effective in restraining the spread of this disease and may you Lord bring this pandemic to an end. Restrain those who would use this time of judgment to further their evil purposes and their perverse philosophies. In your mercy turn us back to the goodness of your law and to the kingdom of your Son.

In our isolation, set our hearts on you and make our delight to be in you, for you are our heritage and our very great reward. Grant to us faith to trust you and to know that you work all things for the good of your chosen people.

Hear us as we pray as Jesus taught us to pray:

“Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”

Count Your Blessings (see next page)

1 When upon life’s billows you are tempest-tossed,

When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,

Count your many blessings – name them one by one,

And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.

Count your blessings – name them one by one;

Count your blessings – see what God has done;

Count your blessings – name them one by one;

Count your many blessings – see what God has done.

2 Are you ever burdened with a load of care?

Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?

Count your many blessings – every doubt will fly,

And you will keep singing as the days go by. [Refrain]

3 When you look at others with their lands and gold,

Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;

Count your many blessings – money cannot buy

Your reward in heaven nor your home on high. [Refrain]

4 So amid the conflict, whether great or small,

Do not be discouraged – God is over all;

Count your many blessings – angels will attend,

Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end. [Refrain]

To Our Church Family and Friends

In light of the Covid-19 crisis, a Session meeting was called. After much prayer and consideration, the Session decided to comply wholeheartedly with the CDC recommendations,in order to do our part in combating the spread of the virus.  We are convinced that this is what we must do in order to love our neighbors as ourselves.  It was decided to cancel all of our Bible Studies, Youth Groups, Choir and Sunday School.

We will not be conducting worship services in the church building.  At the present time, we are developing a worship service that can be conducted at home.  There will be online resources for this service and an order of worship available to you.  These materials should be ready for you by Saturday and posted on our website,  and on the church Facebook page.

We recognize this is not an ideal circumstance for worship for the church as a whole.  In the current circumstance, it is what we can do.  We will make adjustments to this service as we learn.

Please be in prayer for one another and patient with us as we find our way through this crisis.  Please keep the leaders of the church in your prayers and the leaders of our nation, as well.

As always, please reach out to an Elder with any questions.

Thank you.

In Christ,

Rev.  Dave Kenyon
