1 All you that fear Jehovah's name, his glory tell, his praise proclaim; you children of his chosen race, stand in awe before his face, stand in awe before his face.

2 The suff'ring One he has not spurned, who unto him for help has turned; from him he has not hid his face, but answered his request in grace, but answered his request in grace.

3 O Lord, your goodness makes me raise amid your people songs of praise; before all them that fear you, now I worship you and pay my vow, I worship you and pay my vow.

4 For all the meek you will provide; they shall be fed and satisfied; all they that seek the Lord shall live and never-ending praises give, and never-ending praises give.

5 The Lord's unfailing righteousness all generations shall confess; from age to age shall men be taught what wondrous works the Lord has wrought, what wondrous works the Lord has wrought.

Call To Confession

Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.

Romans 12:9–14 (NKJV):

Out of the depths I have cried to You, O Lord;

Lord, hear my voice!

Let Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.

If You, Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?

But there is forgiveness with You that You may be feared.

Psalm 130:1–4 (NKJV)

Confession of Sins

Let us, therefore, confess our sin, saying together:

Merciful Heavenly Father, pardon us our many sins; the sins we know and the sins hidden from our conscience. Cleanse us from wrong motives and forgive us for feeble obedience. By your Spirit renew our hearts to love you, our minds to know you, and our wills to obey you. For we ask this mercy in the name of your Son who shed his blood for us. Amen.

Word of Assurance

God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

Romans 5:8–9 (NKJV)

Song of Renewal

My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;

I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus name.

On Christ the solid rock I stand; all other ground is sinking sand, all other ground is sinking sand.

Trinity Hymnal # 521, stanza 1

Scripture Lessons: 2 Peter 1:1–9 NKJV, modified JDK):

1 Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus the Christ,

To those who have obtained an equally precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus the Christ:

2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God even Jesus our Lord,

3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of the one who called us into his glory and moral excellence,

4 by which he have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature having escaped the corruption that is in the world through immoral passion.

5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith moral excellence, to moral excellence knowledge,

6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control endurance, to endurance godliness,

7 to godliness brotherly affection, and to brotherly affection love.

8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus the Christ.

9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.

Sermon

Hymn # 644 May the Mind of Christ My Savior

1 May the mind of Christ my Savior live in me from day to day, by his love and pow'r controlling all I do and say.

2 May the Word of God dwell richly in my heart from hour to hour, so that all may see I triumph only through his pow'r.

3 May the peace of God my Father rule my life in everything, that I may be calm to comfort sick and sorrowing.

4 May the love of Jesus fill me as the waters fill the sea; him exalting, self abasing, this is victory.

5 May his beauty rest upon me as I seek the lost to win, and may they forget the channel, seeing only him.

Prayer of the Church and the Lord’s Prayer

“Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”

Hymn # 535 O the Deep Deep Love of Jesus!

1 O the deep, deep love of Jesus! Vast, unmeasured, boundless, free; rolling as a mighty ocean in its fullness over me. Underneath me, all around me, is the current of thy love; leading onward, leading homeward, to thy glorious rest above.

2 O the deep, deep love of Jesus! Spread his praise from shore to shore; how he loveth, ever loveth, changeth never, nevermore; how he watches o'er his loved ones, died to call them all his own; how for them he intercedeth, watcheth o'er them from the throne.

3 O the deep, deep love of Jesus! Love of ev'ry love the best: 'tis an ocean vast of blessing, 'tis a haven sweet of rest. O the deep, deep love of Jesus! 'tis a heav'n of heav'ns to me; and it lifts me up to glory, for it lifts me up to thee.

Benediction
