Call to Worship: Isaiah 6:1-3

In the year that King Uzziah died,

I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up,

and the train of His robe filled the temple.

Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings:

with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet,

and with two he flew.

And one cried to another and said:

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts;

The whole earth is full of His glory!”

Almighty Father, God of holiness and purity, heaven and earth are full of your glory. You made us to reflect your glory, but we are an unclean people who have sinned against you in thought, word and deed. For the sake of your Son, who died to cleanse us, wash away our sin and purify our hearts that we may worship and glorify you. May our praise and prayers be acceptable to you this day through the perfect righteousness of you Son, in whose name we pray. Amen

Verse of Assurance: Colossians 1:13-14

He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

Holy, Holy, Holy (Trinity Hymnal 100)

1 Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!

Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee.

Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty!

God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!

2 Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore thee,

casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;

cherubim and seraphim falling down before thee,

who wert, and art, and evermore shalt be.

3 Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide thee,

though the eye of sinful man thy glory may not see,

only thou art holy; there is none beside thee

perfect in pow'r, in love, and purity.

4 Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!

All thy works shall praise thy name in earth and sky and sea.

Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty!

God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!

Scripture Lesson: Colossians 3:12-17 (NKJV)

12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering;

13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.

14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.

15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Prayer and Lord’s Prayer:

Our Merciful Heavenly Father, may the whole earth be filled with your glory. For we give thanks and praise to you for all of your good gifts, but most especially for the gift of your Son, our Savior. Grant us your grace that we live in peace with one another and with you, our God. Keep and preserve your church throughout the world. Deliver your people from oppressive governments and embolden us to proclaim that your Son is Lord of all, and that he is the only redeemer of every people.

Send your Spirit upon all who serve in the mission field that they with wisdom and effectiveness may proclaim the gospel of your Son, extending your kingdom, fulfilling that great commission that you gave of “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you. And lo, I am with you always even to the end of the age.”

Strengthen our faith to trust you in the difficulties of this life and fix our hearts upon the hope of eternal glory with you. Heal us of our sicknesses. Save us from danger. Grant us the needs of this week. Fill our hearts with the joy of knowing that you, the Almighty One, who are to us also a loving heavenly Father.

Revive and renew your Church in our land. Turn our American people to your Son, that his gospel may be believed throughout our nation. Grant to us godly rulers who love your law and desire to govern according to your justice.

Hear us as we pray as Jesus taught us to pray:

“Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”

All the Way My Savior Leads Me (Trinity Hymnal 605)

1 All the way my Savior leads me;

what have I to ask beside?

Can I doubt his tender mercy,

who through life has been my guide?

Heav'nly peace, divinest comfort,

here by faith in him to dwell;

for I know, whate'er befall me,

Jesus doeth all things well;

for I know, whate'er befall me,

Jesus doeth all things well.

2 All the way my Savior leads me,

cheers each winding path I tread,

gives me grace for ev'ry trial,

feeds me with the living bread.

Though my weary steps may falter,

and my soul a-thirst may be,

gushing from the rock before me,

lo, a spring of joy I see;

gushing from the rock before me,

lo, a spring of joy I see!

3 All the way my Savior leads me -

O the fullness of his love!

perfect rest to me is promised

in my Father's house above:

when my spirit, clothed, immortal,

wings its flight to realms of day,

this my song through endless ages:

Jesus led me all the way;

this my song through endless ages:

Jesus led me all the way!
