Welcome
Call to Worship
Oh come, let us sing to the Lord!
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving;
Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.
For the Lord is the great God,
And the great King above all gods.
In His hand are the deep places of the earth;
The heights of the mountains are His also.
Psalm 95:1–4 (NKJV)
Hymn # 119 I Sing the Almighty Power of God
1 I sing th'almighty pow'r of God that made the mountains rise, that spread the flowing seas abroad, and built the lofty skies. I sing the wisdom that ordained the sun to rule the day; the moon shines full at his command and all the stars obey.
2 I sing the goodness of the Lord that filled the earth with food; he formed the creatures with his word, and then pronounced them good. Lord, how your wonders are displayed where'er I turn mine eye, if I survey the ground I tread or gaze upon the sky!
3 There's not a plant or flow'r below but makes your glories known; and clouds arise and tempests blow, by order from your throne; while all that borrows life from you is ever in your care, and everywhere that man can be, you, God, are present there.
Call To Confession
Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
Romans 12:9–14 (NKJV):
Out of the depths I have cried to You, O Lord;
Lord, hear my voice!
Let Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.
If You, Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?
But there is forgiveness with You that You may be feared.
Psalm 130:1–4 (NKJV)
Confession of Sins
Let us, therefore, confess our sin, saying together:
Merciful Heavenly Father, pardon us our many sins; the sins we know and the sins hidden from our conscience. Cleanse us from wrong motives and forgive us for feeble obedience. By your Spirit renew our hearts to love you, our minds to know you, and our wills to obey you. For we ask this mercy in the name of your Son who shed his blood for us. Amen.
Word of Assurance
God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.
Romans 5:8–9 (NKJV)
Song of Renewal
My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
On Christ the solid rock I stand; all other ground is sinking sand, all other ground is sinking sand.
Trinity Hymnal # 521, stanza 1
Scripture Lessons:
Colossians 2:6–10 (NKJV mod.):
6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding with thanksgiving. 8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. 9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; 10 and you are full in Him, who is the head of all rule and authority.
John 14:1–7 (NKJV mod.):
1 Let not your heart be troubled. Believe in God! And believe in me! 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.” 5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going, and how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you had known me, you would have known my Father also; and from now on you know him and have seen him.”

“Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”
Hymn # 439 Christ Shall Have Dominion
1 Christ shall have dominion over land and sea, Earth's remotest regions shall his empire be; they that wilds inhabit shall their worship bring, kings shall render tribute, nations serve our King.
Refrain: Christ shall have dominion over land and sea, earth's remotest regions shall his empire be.
2 When the needy seek him, he will mercy show; yea, the weak and helpless shall his pity know; he will surely save them from oppression's might, for their lives are precious in his holy sight. [Refrain]
3 Ever and forever shall his name endure, long as suns continue it shall stand secure; and in him forever all men shall be blest, and all nations hail him King of kings confessed. [Refrain]
4 Unto God Almighty joyful Zion sings; he alone is glorious, doing wondrous things. Evermore, ye people, bless his glorious name, his eternal glory through the earth proclaim. [Refrain]
Benediction
