Welcome

Call to Worship

Praise the Lord!

Praise the Lord from the heavens;

Praise Him in the heights!

Him, all His angels;

Praise Him, all His hosts!

Psalm 148:1–2 (NKJV)

Hymn # 125 Let All Things Now Living

1 Let all things now living a song of thanksgiving

to God our Creator triumphantly raise; who fashioned and made us, protected and stayed us,

who guides us and leads to the end of our days, His banners are o'er us, his light goes before us,

a pillar of fire shining forth in the night, ‘till shadows have vanished and darkness is banished,

as forward we travel from light into light. 2 His law he enforces: the stars in their courses,

the sun in its orbit obediently shine; The hills and the mountains, the rivers and fountains,

the deeps of the ocean proclaim him divine. We too, should be voicing our love and rejoicing,

with glad adoration, a song let us raise, ‘till all things now living unite in thanksgiving

to God in the highest, hosanna and praise!

Call To Confession

And God spoke all these words, saying:

2“I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

3 You shall have no other gods before Me.

4 You shall not make for yourself a carved image...5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them.

7 You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.

8 Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

12 Honor your father and your mother.

13 You shall not murder.

14 You shall not commit adultery.

15 You shall not steal.

16 You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

17 You shall not desire...anything that is your neighbor’s.

I acknowledged my sin to You,

And my iniquity I have not hidden.

I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”

And You forgave the iniquity of my sin.

For this cause everyone who is godly shall pray to You

In a time when You may be found.

Psalm 32:5–6 (NKJV)

Confession of Sins

Let us, therefore, confess our sin, saying together:

“Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; according to the multitude of Your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is always before me... Hide Your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities” through Jesus your Son. Amen.

Word of Assurance

For as the heavens are high above the earth,

So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;

As far as the east is from the west,

So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

As a father pities his children,

So the Lord pities those who fear Him.

Psalm 103:11–13 (NKJV):

Song of Renewal

Gracious God my heart renew,

Make my spirit right and true;

Cast me not away from thee,

Let thy Spirit dwell in me;

Thy salvation's joy impart.

Steadfast make my willing heart.

#486, stanza 5 (Ps 51:10-11)

Scripture Lesson:

Titus 1:1–4 (NKJV)

1 Paul, a bondservant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect and the acknowledgment of the truth which accords with godliness,

2 in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began,

3 but has in due time manifested His word through preaching, which was committed to me according to the commandment of God our Savior;

4 To Titus, a true son in our common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior.

Sermon

Hymn # 518 Christ, of All My Hopes the Ground

1 Christ, of all my hopes the ground, Christ, the spring of all my joy, still in you may I be found, still for you my pow'rs employ, still for you my pow'rs employ.

2 Let your love my heart inflame; keep your fear before my sight; be your praise my highest aim; be your smile my chief delight, be your smile my chief delight.

3 Fountain of o'erflowing grace, freely from your fullness give; till I close my earthly race, may I prove it "Christ to live," may I prove it "Christ to live."

4 Firmly trusting in your blood, nothing shall my heart confound; safely I shall pass the flood, safely reach Immanuel's ground, safely reach Immanuel's ground.

5 Thus, O thus, an entrance give to the land of cloudless sky; having known it "Christ to live," let me know it "gain to die," let me know it "gain to die."

Prayer of the Church and the Lord’s Prayer

“Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”

Hymn # 528 My Faith Looks Up to Thee

1 My faith looks up to thee, thou Lamb of Calvary, Savior divine; now hear me while I pray, take all my guilt away, O let me from this day be wholly thine.

2 May thy rich grace impart strength to my fainting heart, my zeal inspire; as thou hast died for me, O may my love to thee pure, warm, and changeless be, a living fire.

3 While life's dark maze I tread, and griefs around me spread, be thou my guide; bid darkness turn to day, wipe sorrow's tears away, nor let me ever stray from thee aside.

4 When ends life's transient dream, when death's cold, sullen stream shall o'er me roll, blest Savior, then, in love, fear and distrust remove; O bear me safe above, a ransomed soul.

Benediction
