Click here to listen to the entire service Welcome Call to Worship I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High. Psalm 9:1–2 (NKJV) Hymn # 97 We Praise You, O God, Our Redeemer, Creator 1 We praise you, O God, our Redeemer, Creator, in grateful devotion our tribute we bring. We lay it before you, we kneel and adore you; we bless your holy name, glad praises we sing. 2 We worship you, God of our fathers, we bless you; through life's storm and tempest our Guide you have been. When perils o'ertake us, escape you will make us, and with your help, O Lord, our battles we win. 3 With voices united our praises we offer, to you, great Jehovah, glad anthems we raise. Your strong arm will guide us, our God is beside us, to you, our great Redeemer, forever be praise. Call To Confession Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Romans 12:9–14 (NKJV): Out of the depths I have cried to You, O Lord; Lord, hear my voice! Let Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. If You, Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with You that You may be feared. Psalm 130:1–4 (NKJV) Confession of Sins Let us, therefore, confess our sin, saying together: Merciful Heavenly Father, pardon us our many sins; the sins we know and the sins hidden from our conscience. Cleanse us from wrong motives and forgive us for feeble obedience. By your Spirit renew our hearts to love you, our minds to know you, and our wills to obey you. For we ask this mercy in the name of your Son who shed his blood for us. Amen. Word of Assurance God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. Romans 5:8–9 (NKJV) Song of Renewal My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus’ name. On Christ the solid rock I stand; all other ground is sinking sand, all other ground is sinking sand. Trinity Hymnal # 521, stanza 1 Scripture Lessons: Isaiah 55:6–9 (NKJV): 6 Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon. 8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.” 1 John 1:8–10 (NKJV): 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us. Matthew 6:12, 14-15: 12 And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors... 14 For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Sermon Hymn # 551 How Blest Is He Whose Trespass

1 How blest is he whose trespass has freely been forgiv'n, whose sin is wholly covered before the sight of heav'n. Blest he to whom Jehovah will not impute his sin, who has a guileless spirit, whose heart is true within.

2 While I kept guilty silence my strength was spent with grief, thy hand was heavy on me, my soul found no relief; but when I owned my trespass, my sin hid not from thee, when I confessed transgression, then thou forgavest me. 3 So let the godly seek thee in times when thou art near; no whelming floods shall reach them, nor cause their hearts to fear. In thee, O Lord, I hide me, thou savest me from ill, and songs of thy salvation my heart with rapture thrill.

4 I graciously will teach thee the way that thou shalt go, and with mine eye upon thee my counsel make thee know. But be ye not unruly, or slow to understand, be not perverse, but willing to heed my wise command.

5 The sorrows of the wicked in number shall abound, but those that trust Jehovah, his mercy shall surround. Then in the Lord be joyful, in song lift up your voice. Be glad in God, ye righteous, rejoice, ye saints, rejoice.

Prayer of the Church and the Lord’s Prayer

“Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”

Hymn # 635 How Good It Is to Thank the Lord

1 How good it is to thank the Lord, and praise to you, Most High, accord, to show your love with morning light, and tell your faithfulness each night; yea, good it is your praise to sing, and all our sweetest music bring.

2 O Lord, with joy my heart expands before the wonders of your hands; great works, Jehovah, you have wrought, exceeding deep your ev'ry thought; a foolish man knows not their worth, nor he whose mind is of the earth.

3 When as the grass the wicked grow, when sinners flourish here below, then is there endless ruin nigh, but you, O Lord, are throned on high; your foes shall fall before your might, the wicked shall be put to flight.

4 The righteous man shall flourish well, and in the house of God shall dwell; he shall be like a goodly tree, and all his life shall fruitful be; for righteous is the Lord and just, he is my rock, in him I trust.

Benediction
